What's new in 1.1.0
2026-10-14
Added
- Continue for Free is now a clear button on the sign-in screen. No account is needed: open, read and edit with the free tools straight away.
- The Free plan can save or export 10 documents a day. A document's first save, Save As, export or print of the day uses one; after that it saves and exports as often as you like until midnight. Saving a file with no changes is free.
- The status bar and Settings → Account show how many free exports are left and when the count resets.
- Before a document uses one of the day's free exports, Inkwell asks first. Tick "Don't ask again" to stop the question (Settings → Account turns it back on).
- Settings → Account keeps a history of your free exports: when, and what kind, never file names or what was in them.
- Try paid tools before you buy: on the Free plan you can use shapes, fonts, the ruler, underline and strikeout, magic select, Edit Existing Text, page organizing, sections and form filling. A strip shows what you're trying. To save a document that uses them, upgrade or choose "Remove tried-out edits".
Changed
- The Free plan no longer limits how many PDFs you open a day. The daily limit now counts saves and exports instead.
- Clicking a paid feature shows a short message with an Upgrade button instead of a dialog.
- Printing on the Free plan counts as an export, like saving.
